How do I participate in the noise action plan consultation?

How do I participate?

Responses will be accepted:

• Via web: A dedicated website has been developed to capture your feedback. All respondents need to provide their name and postcode. A privacy policy has been developed that meets data protection requirements. All respondents will also be invited to provide details on protected characteristics e.g. age, gender and disability to allow Edinburgh Airport to report on equalities. Visit nap.edinburghairport.com to provide your feedback and read our privacy policy.


• You should use the Freepost envelope included with the Consultation form. You can also post your consultation form yourself to: Progressive, 3 Quality Street, Q Court, Edinburgh EH4 5BP. If you do not have a Freepost envelope, you can request one in writing to the above address or by emailing edicommunications@edinburghairport.com. Please note that responses to the consultation cannot be accepted by email.


• Information events: We will be hosting three community events during the consultation. These will be listed on nap.edinburghairport.com and we will advertise them on social media and in local community press.

If I have no comment to make, do I need to do anything?

If you have no comment to make on the Noise Action Plan, we would still like to know that you considered the information. Please tick the no comment box on the website or reference this in your postal response.

What happens to the responses to the consultation?

Following the consultation, Edinburgh Airport will analyse all responses to determine if any local information affecting the Noise Action Plan has not previously been considered. Responses to the consultation will be analysed to identify the concerns and comments of respondents.

The final Noise Action Plan will look to address comments and concerns raised during this consultation where this is possible, and will be submitted to the Scottish Government.

Can I have a copy of the consultation responses?

No. We will publish a report after the consultation has finalised that will summarise and theme the responses, but individual consultation responses will not be available.

Who monitors the consultation and where can I go if I have concerns about how the consultation is being carried out?

This consultation is being conducted by Edinburgh Airport as part of the Scottish Government’s noise requirements.

If you have any complaints about how this consultation has been conducted, these should be referred to: noise@gov.uk or Environmental Quality Division, Scottish Government, Area 1H North, Victoria Quay, Edinburgh EH6 6QQ.

Will my query/response be treated as confidential?

The Scottish Government requires all consultation material, which includes copies of responses, to be included in any formal submission.

Edinburgh Airport undertakes that personal details or content of responses or submissions will be treated in line with our privacy policy, see Appendix L
